Provenance

A per-article strip of neutral provenance signals — what already exists to be checked, surfaced in one place.

These badges surface existing, already-public signals: whether the article’s media carries a Content Credential (C2PA), whether the outlet included an AI-disclosure or sponsored-content label on the page, how many revisions NTN has tracked for the piece, and whether the outlet appears in the Journalism Trust Initiative or Trust Project member lists. We don’t compute a score, and we don’t rate the outlet. The absence of a signal is not evidence of wrongdoing — a missing Content Credential doesn’t mean an image was faked, and a missing registry listing doesn’t mean an outlet is untrustworthy. It means that particular signal wasn’t found. How we check each signal ›

We read the page and surface the provenance signals it already carries — on-page AI-disclosure and sponsored labels, and the outlet’s trust-registry membership. Run live for you and unreviewed. Full Content Credential (C2PA) verification runs in our capture pipeline, not in this live check.
